Study Abroad

The San Diego Community College District’s colleges are expanding study abroad opportunities so students can experience firsthand another country’s culture and language.

In summer 1999, Mesa College offered a two-week fashion course in Paris. Courses are planned in Florence, Italy, for fall 2000 and Oxford, England, in the springs of 2000, with Mesa history professor Arelene Wolinski, and 2001.

At City College anthropology instructor Steve Bouscaren has led Spanish language and culture summer study programs in Mexico. City College graphics instructor Candice Lopez has led several travel-study tours to European countries, most recently to art galleries, museums and cultural centers of Switzerland and Italy in summer 1999.

Ask the college counseling office about study abroad programs, or come back here to see what is being planned.
